Sunrise in Himalayas
I had been to Sikkim in June'2004 and here it goes what I had experienced then.... *************** I wish I had with me the best camera in the world for capturing the unfolding of sunrise drama in the Himalayas. Imagine...3:00 AM at dawn you come out of the Dzongri trek hut to find yourself completely drenched in the full moon light. You stare at the moon, the spotless sky and you are lost. A gentle slash of the cool wind wakes you up and you realise you have to reach the Dzongri top ASAP before sunrise. (The reason you know...from Dzongri camp one cannot see Khanchendzonga [Kanchanganga - world's third highest peak] or its surrounding peaks directly. One has to climb upto the Dzongri top to get the mesmerizing view.) You wake up the poor fast asleep Porter to guide you to the top. As you climb up the ridge, shimmering white peaks on either side welcome you.
